Guest guest
" Anyone else try skin testing on a 3 year old who goes ballistic when a doctor tries to look in his/her ears? " .... Hi , See if you can get the doctor to prescribe Emla cream. You put it on thickly 45 minutes before the appointment, and cover it with plastic wrap. (We also put on a long sleeve shirt, and wrapped some ace bandages not too tightly over the shirt so DS wouldn't remove the whole thing). Our DAN! doctor prescribed this for our 3y5m old son (who also flips out upon examination!) and we have already successfully used it twice for the blood work he needed. He of course was upset, but did not flinch when the needle went in. Good Luck! ~ in NY, Mom to 3y5m Mild ASD and 1y5m
