Guest guest
Hi All, Well, some good news on the horizon. I talked to my endo office yesterday, and the assistant was very sweet. She took down all the info about how crappy I've been feeling this week, and said she'd try to have the doctor call me soon, but wasn't sure when it would be since he was at the hospital all of the previous night and had left early to go get some sleep. I also asked her about getting the Free T3 test, and was told that while they don't normally test for Free T3, that if I wanted it, to go ahead and pencil it in on my lab sheet and just remind them each month, and I could have pretty much any test I like that would make me feel better about my condition. My endo ended up calling me back about an hour after I talked to her. He said it sounded like I was a bit hyper, so he has upped my tapazole to 10 mg....5 at 2x a day and he wanted me on a beta blocker regularly for a short while that I wouldn't need to take as often and lasted longer than the one my GP had given me to take as needed (propanolol 4 x a day as needed) so I'm now on 50mg of atenonol once a day. Reading the list of possible side effects and the fact that I have to wean off of it kinda freaks me out, but I can't go own with the shortness of breath, coughing and tight feeling in my chest plus the funky & irregular beats I was having with more frequency. And let's not even talk about the emotional basket case I was this past week! Anytime anyone asked how I was doing, even casually, I'd burst into tears! :-) I know from all your posts that it's best to spit the dosage of Tap into 3 parts every eight hours, and I'm sure the endo wouldn't care if I do that instead of twice a day....but how does one go about splitting 2 - 5mg pills into 3 equal parts? Someone help me with that please! Thanks in advance. And I hope to share that I'm feeling better shortly. So much to learn, so little brain!
