-for surgery - no waiting period though you may want to wait till

you're

stable on thyroid hormone replacement since it's likely (not

inevitable

though) that you may go hypo. Surgery is a good option for people who

truly can't tolerate ATDs or who want to get pregnant fast. Did you

say

you're 23? No need to rush into surgery .

Thanks Fay, I know I said I was 23, but actually I'm 24.(Not sure

what I was thinking when I said I was 23) I have been trying to

understand all of this thyroid stuff since I was told that I had

hyperthyroidism in August. I have been thinking about the surgery

option since I know now that I have GD. I know I shouldn't be jumping

into surgery but I would like to get pregnant as soon as possible, My

grandmother has hypothyroidism and just takes a pill once a day for

the rest of her life I don't think that's too bad and wouldn't mind

it either. So if surgery is an option open to me I think I'll take

it. Thank you so much for listening to me. I appreciate every thing

you have told me and helped me to understand better. Maybe the more I

educate myself my mind will change about the whole surgery thing.
