Guest guest
Howdy Folks! here in Lynchburg, Va. Well, we went to the University of Virginia because according to one physical therapist and Dr. H., our son Connor was going to need some correction to his back due to kyphosis (c-curve). Quite frankly, the ortho doc at UVA asked us in a not so polite way, " What the * & %$# are you doing here? " They saw no noticeable curve that needed correcting. In fact, they won't do anything until he's six or seven. Sigh. I finally ran into that academic snobbery that many of you mentioned at convention. Apparently because Dr. H. isn't published (yet) other professionals (and I use that word scathingly here) will not give her or her treatment recommendations the time of day. My heart really goes out to Jody in Austrailia. Quite frankly, I think you have the patience of a saint. I think by this time I would be carrying a very big stick with me when I go back to a doctor like that. Well, the good news is that our P.T. is going to do some deep muscle massage and manipulation. Similar to chiropractor work, but slightly different. Even she was stumpted as to why the Dr.'s at UVA refused treatment. Oh well. Onto other stuff. I'm volunteering for my church right now as the youth group leader. I't's kept me pretty busy planning events and juggling my kid's schedule with it. Graham has started kids yoga and loves it. Cameron has finally adjusted to his teacher in pre school. He was very attatched to his teacher last year. Connor is doing great. No complaints. I think his nutritional growth spurt is over because his appetite has declined steadily over the last two weeks. I'll start the periactin again on Sunday. When he's growing, he's eating. When he's not growing, he would subsist on three Pediasure bottles a day. However, since I know his rythmn now, it doesn't freak me out so bad anymore. The new Speech Therapist is a dream. The old speech therapist is being cordial, but really isn't speaking to me. Sigh. I've learned my lesson to well. Prayer's being sent your way Jody in Austrailia. I know I owe you pictures but is traveling so much right now and getting him on the computer at home looks to much like work....so, I'm waiting for an opportune time. My mother in law thinks Liam is to precious for words. She finally " saw " the thing we were telling her about how all RSS people look alike, especially when they are kids. Liam and Connor could be " mate's " and brother's! Blessings to you all and good luck on the walk a thon's! Together we all make a difference! Mom to Graham 7 with ADD; Cameron 4; Connor IUGR, RSS, GERD, Periactin, Zantac, kyphosis, asymmetry and the most beautiful smile in the world.
