" A Classic case of Meringue Madness "

When I was a teenager, I didn't know how to cook but

decided to make a lemon meringue pie. I followed the

directions and put it in the oven to bake, meringue and

all.

When I attempted to cut the pie, I couldn't get a

knife through it! I knew Mother would be upset, so I

buried it under a tree in our orange grove. Our German

Shepherd dug the pie up, and when he got to the

meringue, it glued his mouth shut!

My father thought the dog had gone mad and got a

gun to shoot him! Luckily, I told him what happened in

time to save the dog.
