These kinds of flare-ups happen once in a while in all groups who are thrown together not by choice but by circumstances. We don't have to like each other, we just have to respect each other and learn from each other. I normally let things like this go, because I have more than enough going on already. However, the above quoted statement I find hard to let go. I make my own choices, Lara, whether you think they are stupid or not. But since you know nothing about most of us, I find your above statement a little strange to say the least. " Pissed off " at those of us who make our own choices as to our treatment???? How would you know what we have done? How would you know what choices we made or how much thought went into those choices or what is best in our own special circumstances. And how do you know you are the only one who is strong and " stood up " for themselves? > <<it's sad the way some people took my style and ran with it to make me > (whomever i am) look bad when all i was doing was my own thing; it got ugly > when other's didn't take the time to know what i was about and posted > inflammatory remarks, and man o man, i responded in kind.>> No, Lara, what is sad is, to steal a phrase, we " have a failure to communicate " . It wasn't your style, it was your demeaning, condescending words. If it is true that stress is one of the key contributing factors to graves and GO, then I can understand your problem, since it must be inordinately stressful to live with yourself and that attitude. Terri Graves disease 1979; treated with RAI; exothalmia 1982, treated with IV steroids; since then on unithroid. New flare up of TED with severe double vision, swelling in intraocular muscles and inflammation in August of 2002. Currently hypoactive. Treating TED with prednisone. If doesn't work, considering other options (surgical).
