Guest guest
Hi Tori it's been a while but I have been checking in on occasion. If you are 37 plus weeks now the chances are great your baby is fine in terms of lung development. So induction is not out of the question. But of course letting nature take it's own course would be better. The baby will gain a little more weight and probably be a better feeder. As far as steroids this is not an option after 36 weeks. I had one 36 and one 37 weeker and my kids were fine. I was also induced twice without difficulty. Forget about the amnio. No need as far as I can see. You will have a greater risk of going into spontaneous labor anyway just from the irritation of the needle insertion in the already irritable uterus at this point. You might even be thinning out on your own right now. I would say be patient another week and see what the next visit shows. Then make the decision on the induction. ph was 37 plus 5 days and was just fine. My was 36 plus 1 day and I was hypo at the time and she was just fine also. So don't fret too much. Ninety percent of the babies I see at 37 weeks in the hospital are A-okay at birth. That is a conservative estimate at that. Hope this is a little helpful. Regards.
