Guest guest
The nutrition CD has created lot of interest with daily postings requesting copies from numerous individuals resulting in an unnecessary load to email accounts when the policy or practice we had established some years back for this group was to have the individual requesting copies of similar materials follow up with the source directly and not make a public request as is happening again. The response and activity generated by this CD and similar products could be a topic for discussion via this group which I will in a separate message, I am appealing to the list members and/or to the group manager to review this matter in the meantime, individuals seeking copies of materials referenced in this group should track the messages to identify the originator of the message and communicate with this party directly and individually to make requests. The manner in which members of this list react to reference materials suggests that there is a need for some type of depository for such materials where individual could browse and then link to the original source. There are a number of national entities including federally-funded centers that could serve this purpose. Guest guest
Hello Everyone, In response to Alfonso's comments, I agree that it is important to remember that when you reply to messages sent through the list serv that they go out to everyone. ing discussion on the list serv is great and is encouraged, however if you are merely requesting materials from someone else it is best to respond directly to them. This way everyone does not get a lot of e-mails that are intended for one person. Also with regards to Alfonso's second point, the NCFH Resource Center does act as a clearinghouse for thousands of patient education and farmworker specific research materials. This includes many of the materials discussed on the list serv. These materials can be downloaded directly from our site, ordered on-line, or for some materials we provide sample copies and direct you to the organization who created the materials to obtain more. The Resource Center can be accessed here http://www.ncfh.org/00_ns_lc.php.
