Guest guest
Hi , You wrote: Interesting: in pregnancy, it says FT4 should be normal and TT4 should be elevated. Just in case... _________________________________________________ Yes, simply reverse the info you already know. The estrogen binds with the thyroid hormone and thus gives the false total T4 result. This is why we say to never think a total T4 or 3 is an accurate measurement of THYROID hormone. It shows a group of things, not just thyroid. The FREE T numbers will always reveal our true thyroid status. ( grin) You must be a tad hypo today. Have you let them force you to take too much of that PTU ? I remember you were exhausted last night. Hope it is all from doing too many fun things. 'Cause I know that you know this stuff. You always take the time to help others with such informative replies. Though I find it is a bit of human nature for some of us to do much better looking at some one else's stuff, yet once it is about ourselves, we are wise enough to question our judgement Fact is I easily think of many examples on this subject. :-) -Pam L-
