Guest guest
After I had WLS I never really felt real hunger- I would eat because it was mealtime and I needed nutrition and of course I still enjoyed food(I had no problems with food at all) Not much change when I got pregnant 5 1/2 months later except certain things would make me queasy because of the prego hormones but I stlii wasn't " hungry " . I am now 31 weeks pregnant and want to eat ALL the time. I have been this way for about 2 months now(which is about where you are now) The way I figure it is those hunger feelings are real and it is my body telling me the baby is growing and we need the food. Sometimes when I get up in the middle of the night to pee I am hungry even then. I will sometimes eat some light yogurt or cottage cheese and try to go back to sleep. I do induldge my self in eating what ever I want but in moderation an I do make sure I get the nutrition in so I feel I'm doing what my body wants me to do. When I got pregnant I continued to loose weight and that stoped at about 18 weeks and I have been gaining a little since then. I am now about 6lbs less than I was the weekend I got pregnant so Though I am eating a lot I am not overdoing it or I would be gaining more than I am. I get hungry every couple of hours and have something small at that time. You are normal as far as I'm concerned, and I think as long as you are eating quality foods and keeping yopur liquids up you are doing fine. - Diane > OMG.. Guest guest
K, I am about 2 weeks ahead of you, edd 11/3. Anyway about two weeks ago I started waking up at 7:30 in the morning because I was so hungry. I mean I couldn't get back to sleep at all. I normally didn't get up until 9:30. So anyway I now get up and eat, and then take a nap until I am actually ready to get up. I just figured that it was the baby saying that it needed some food. I have gained about 12 lbs and I am almost 3 years out from open RNY. It is hard to see the scale go up, but I know there is a valid reason. I just keep telling myself that it will come off. Hope this helps. Leah

I have lost about 22 lbs since getting pg... BUT I was only 10 weeks out of surgery.. Good news is that my body isn't rapidly losing.. but currently maintaining.. up a lb/down a lb.. I just had 2 peices of French toast with butter and a big scoop of Strawberry Jam... I am stuffed... but it hit the spot. (whole wheat bread/1 large egg/splash of milk) I have been going thur my strawberry jam cravings... Lunch will be a HUGE salad with cheese and Thousand Island dressing.. My personal consolation with the food thing.. is 1) I am not eating BAGS of chips and Cookies 2) Aside from the Jam... I am eating good foods. And while I personally feel I am " pigging " out.. the reality is that PRE WLS.. it would have been 4 pieces of French toast... maybe some sausage.. etc. I would be sitting here at the computer with a box of cookies and just mindless munching... And of course .. some Entemenns cake or something.. Well. I am off to put Noah down for a nap.. change my bedding... put away some clothes and tidy up... Then.. take a little nap myself!!!!!!!!!!!
