Guest guest
Hi everyone... It's been a while since I've posted, so I'll give you my basics. I had RNY (open) surgery on April 30, 2002. Got married on May 18, 2002 (nuts, huh??). The wedding was really, really small and really, really last minute, so we decided to do a BIG wedding celebration on July 5, 2003. I wanted to wear a real wedding dress, have bridesmaids, etc, etc, etc. Plus, my hubby and I waited a long time for each other (he was 42 and I was 36 when we married) so we had much to celebrate with our family and friends. Anyway...since we've been married we've been through so much: my recovery from my surgery (pretty much flawless), me getting a new job, me getting another new job (which I LOVE!!!), my husband losing his job after working for the same company for 17 years (can you say MERGER??), my hubby having total hip replacement surgery on April 6, 2004 (right hip...and he's recovered perfectly), and him getting (after 9 months...PRAISE GOD he had 9 months of full pay severence from his other job) a new job in June. So life is good. We got the green light from my surgeon a year ago to go ahead and start trying to have a family, but then the lay off came, and then the hip surgery. Anyway...we've been trying since January of this year with no luck. We did have to take 2 months off from trying while he was recovering from his surgery and that was DIFFICULT;) I'm on day 31 of my cycle and no period!!! WooHoo!!! I had ordered more OPKs, PreSeed lubricant, more pregnancy test strips, etc...and I don't think I'll need them. The last couple of days I've been feeling kinda " periodish " , but I haven't gotten it yet. No sign of it at all. Usually I'll start spotting or bleeding very lightly just a few hours after I start feeling that way. So...I took a pregnancy test this morning. I got the test strips from _www.babyhopes.com_ (http://www.babyhopes.com) . In the test area there will be one or two lines. One line is the control line (which tells you the test is working properly). If another line appears (the test line), then that means you're pregnant. Well, I wasn't sure if I was seeing a really faint line or if I was wanting to see a line so badly that I was imagining it. I asked my husband what he saw in the white area. Keep in mind he had no idea what he was supposed to be seeing. Without hesitation he said, " There are two lines. One is darker than the other, but there are two lines there. " So...it might not be a big fat positive, but a big faint positive, but the test directions say that the darkness of the line means nothing. If there's a line there, you're pregnant. I still can't quite believe it, so I'm trying really hard not to get my hopes up. I was all set to go back on my Clomid this cycle and now I may not have to. YEAH!! I'm going to see my surgeon today (social visit...taking him some banana bread and a mocha. He says that all the weight his patients lose, he gains because we bring him so much food. Weird, huh??) and I'll ask him if he can order a pregnancy test that I can do today or if I should just be patient and wait until Monday when I can (hopefully) get in to see my OB/GYN. That's probably the best thing to do because if I don't get my period by Monday then for SURE I know I'm pregnant. I'm a 29-31day cycle girl. Thanks for listening to me ramble (and ramble and ramble). Can you tell I'm excited!!?? Quick question: when you found out you were pregnant, how long did you wait to start telling people?? Part of me wants to scream it to the world, but part of me wants to wait until my 1st trimester is over with. Thanks for the encouragement, prayers and words of advice!!! Peace...
