Guest guest
Shari I'm sorry to say I can't say if that was implantation bleeding or not(for you I hope it is though) I would just hope for the best and in a week or so do a HPT and see what it says. I do have a question for you though. I too have PCOS and after 18 years of marriage I am 32 weeks pregnant thanks to WLS. I never heard about PCOS preventing you from breast feeding - can you tell me more about that? And also the whole window to concieve again thing. I really feel like I should try again soon after this one comes because it may be my last chance but there is nothing concrete as to why I feel this way. I just have a " feeling " . If you could give me more info on this I would appreciate it. Thanks - Diane > OK, here's what's going on: > > History: 15 yrs of infertility mainly due to PCOS (PolyCystic Ovarian Syndrome). Gastric bypass leading to drastic weight loss and regular periods for the first time in my life! Finally got pregnant after I gave up...4 yrs after my surgery. Gave birth to Cadence on 4/19/04, Dr gave ok to begin TTC at 6 wk post-partum checkup. I'm told that PCOS can be somewhat " cured " by having a baby and that there is a window of opportunity to get pregnant again right after you have a baby. I am not breastfeeding (unable to due to PCOS). > OK Fast forward to current times.. > I had my first real period on June 26, lasted a full week. Felt my ovulation pains on Cycle day 13 (late at night) going into day 14. Worked on TTC ALOT since period went away...almost every day (but not last night). Today I felt ...TMI warning..... really " wet " , so I dashed to the bathroom, and there was ALOT of cervical mucous and blood streaked through it. I have been checking ever since, (about 10 hrs ago), and have no more of the CM or blood at all. > What the heck could be going on??? Any ideas? I'm on cycle day 20 now, and normally have 28-29 day cycles. > > Shari > WLS 8/99 > Mommy to Cadence 4/19/04 > >

Guest guest
PCOS can cause some women to not make enough milk to breastfeed. Cadi's Dr diagnosed her with colic at 1 wk old, but it turned out to not be colic. My poor baby was starving! She stopped gaining weight at 3 wks and I couldn't keep up with her demand, so I switched to formula. From her first swallow of formula, she was a different baby. She stopped crying and started gaining weight. I know that had I used a hospital quality pump and worked my butt off, pumping and feeding around the clock, I may have been able to make it work, but even the lactation consultant didn't think I'd have much luck with it. This does not happen to everyone with PCOS, by a long shot. It's just something that is a possibility when you have a hormonal issue like PCOS. The way I understand it, after you give birth, your hormones have a period of time where they tend to function better than they have before. In that way getting pregnant, ironically, can " fix " the PCOS problem for SOME women. My OB told me that if I'm not pregnant again by Christmas, she will start me on glucophage. She suggested that at my age, (34) and with my long history of infertility, that I really didn't have the luxury of being able to wait a few years to start trying for baby number two. She said that if I wanted another baby, that now was a good time to start. Shari WLS 8/99 Mommy to Cadence 4/19/04 Re: Implantation Bleeding? Timing? Weird...
