Guest guest
Hi everyone. I have a really weird question and I apologize if this might be a little too graphic...but I'm new to this trying to get pregnant thing and I'm a little concerned. I had my VBG 16 months ago and have hit my goal weight. I stopped taking the pill in January (after having taken it for about 10 years or so). I'm going to be 35 in September and have never been pregnant. My cycles have never been totally regular. I figure I'm in the 30 day range. Even on the pill they would fluctuate every few months. Since I've been off of the pill my periods have been really weird. They start out with about 3-4 days of just light spotting and then I'll have 2 days of really heavy bleeding and then they are basically over. This is the first month that my husband and I have tried to become pregnant. I bought some ovulation predicters to help me determine where I was in my cycle since I can't tell if I'm supposed to start counting days from the spotting or from the actual bleeding. Anyway, I used the predicters and my husband & I did our thing this wekeend, but then yesterday I was spotting and having blood/mucous in my urine. There was still some this morning as well. I'm not scheduled to begin my period until around the 26th...so what's up with that? I don't know what to think about all of this. I don't know if being on the pill for so long may be causing an infertility issue or if I'm just being paranoid. We really want to get pregnant and I'd prefer not to have to go the fertility drug route, but if I have to, then I guess that's what we'll do... Any ideas? Thanks! Guest guest
racy good luck TTC. The ovilation predictors are good but not necessarily going to help you concieve. In my opinion I would try to concieve for several months using them and if you have no luck then go to a fertility doc. you do not necessarily need to go on fertility drugs but they can do a hormonal work up on you and see if there are any issues there that can be corrected. Sometimes being on the pill can make your body a little off hormonaly and it takes a couple of months to clear that up. I would think that if you stoped the pill in Jan. then it would be all out of your system. Good luck and take things one week at a time. - Diane > Hi everyone.
