.....Because a little knowledge can make you paranoid, right

Sheila??? lol...I mean, how many brain tumors did you have during

your neuro rotation in nursing school? I know I had one or two...

I had my OB visit on Tuesday and went in really worried - about my

weight (larger than usual monthly gain), my BP, my transient

swelling and my migraines...Put all of that together and of COURSE I

MUST HAVE PIH....right?

My BP was 140/72 - but I was rushing around immediately before...She

was absolutely unconcerned about this or my weight

gain/headaches...The headaches were so bad last week I had a sick

day at work and needed rx medication every day...So, of course I

overcompensated everytime I had to take something for my h/a by

checking baby's heart rate with the doppler...At this rate I will

run out of u/s gel in record time..lol..

Anyway, everything is fine - she explained that sometimes lg amts of

weight gain are normal and then you plateau for awhile (I know

someone posted here a day or so ago worried about a 15 lb gain...I

wanted to tell you that my Dr's take on weight is that the one of

the only reasons they weigh you each time you come is because women

expect it...)

Baby is measuring right on target and FHR was strong and

regular...Had a heck of a time finding it for more than 3 secs at a

time because he is doing the Macarena inside me the past few

days...lol...

We have our u/s to determine sex on Aug 4 and I can't wait!!!

So, ladies...a little knowledge is a scary thing sometimes...I wish

I was a ditchdigger some days...lol..

Hope all is well with every one.

Hugs to the board,

EDC Nov 10...23 weeks + 2 days

Add to that list---paralegals. Knowledge isn't power, necessarily.

my best friend had every symptom of every disease we covered! I'll

never forget when our instructor was doing the psych lecture on

paranoid schizophrenia, my best friend raised her hand and the

instructor said, " yes, , I agree with you. I DO think you have

this disease! "

lol

I worked ER when I was pg w/ my 10 yr old, buttttttttt every day from

week 11 til I could FEEL him moving all the time, I checked my FHR w/

the doppler at work. I also checked my BP every day, my urine for

protein/glucose every day and also did a glucometer each and everyday.

Yep, I was paranoid. With my last pg (20 mos ago), I did the same

thing! Except this time around, I could put myself on the monitor

until I could get a good strip and plus I had an US machine at my

fingertips! I couldn't do my own but the residents were all too eager

to show the med students what to look for! lol

I developed preeclampsia the say before I had my firstborn though. I

woke up with lg amt swelling in my feet, headache and I dipped my

urine and it was + for protein. I had my husband (a paramedic) take my

BP and it was 140's/90's. I called my OB and since I was 3 days past

my due date, she put me in and induced me.

Why does your OB say you are having such terrible HA's that you have

missed work? That would worry me as a OB AND the nurse!

yep, I agree, sometimes I wish I didn't know as much as I do, but

there are times when it's been a very BLESSED thing that I know what I

know or myself or a family member would more than likely be seriously

ill or dead!

Hang in there.... it really doesn't get any better! (paranoia-wise).

You worry about the pg, then the delivery, then the first few weeks,

then kindergarten & pre-school days.... riding school bus, driving,

dating, college, marriage then we get to start all over again with

GRANDCHILDRENNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!

aaccckkkkkkkkkk stop me nowwwwwwwwwwww'

lol !
