Guest guest
I rented a doppler from babybeats.com or something like that. i jsut typed in fetal doppler in the search box and got many sites to cehck out but loveed this one. I got the digital readout one, it came looking like a new doppler and was 45.00 a month and came off my debit card. c ame fast too and i always heard the heartbeat without any problems. Guest guest
I wanteed to say I kept mine for about 3 months or so. once I could feel the baby on a regular basis I returned it and they immediatley stopped charging my debit card. I had no problems with them at all... Guest guest
I weighed in at 250 plus all the skin too, so we are similar in size. i got the doppler at about 9-10 weeks I think. It really eased my mind cause I had 2 previous MC before this pregnancy. I think it is easier to find your own babys heartbeat too, once you find it the first time it is right around the same spot after until they are wiggling all over and by them you can feel where they are. If you go with babybeats you will probably want to buy a bit more gel from their site too, I had bought 1 extra tube and used it all up, every drop Hugs, Robin Due date July 27, 04 It's a boy- Emerson Roger Proud Mom to- Twin boys- and age 8 and their sister Madison- age 5 Wife to Pup for 15 years
Guest guest
Oh yeah, also having a digital one you can tell by the number of beats per minute if it is you that you are hearing or the baby. The baby is much faster and you can surely tell by the number.. Guest guest
Just an update and a question for folks regarding the fetal heartbeat dopplers. I am now 12 1/2 weeks and FINALLY my morning sickness is going away. I am SO relieved to not be eating a box of saltines every other day. Doing the Atkins based diet I worried all those toast/cracker carbs would make me balloon but so far I didn't gain an ounce. I know I will now, but am just trying so hard to eat all the right things and do the best for my growing child. Anyway at the doctor's ofc on friday they did the doppler and Baby had a wonderfully heartbeat of 145 and sounded like a little choo choo train, chug-a-chugga hahaha! the only bummer was that due to car problems hubby couldn't be there and was at the car mechanics and I had to spend $45 of my baby furniture money to take cabs to and from. Out of 4 appts he has only been there for 1 and 1/3 appts. he left early on the second one. I sure hope this isn't the way it's going to be the whole time. I love him, but he has to treat me like Baby and I come first or I'm gonna be one of those crazy hormonal psycho pregnant women. Anyway I have a big barbie convention in town to go to in a couple weeks and will sell off half my doll collection to help turn the doll room into the baby room, and to round up more money. So far at my garage sales I made $1200 for the baby stuff. It's pretty fun but a little sad to sell off these dolls too, but the living doll in my tummy is worth more than anything I could ever dream of. We are deciding now whether or not to buy or rent a doppler fetal machine, I am so happy right after the doc's appt, but 2 days later I start stressing and worrying that the baby is not okay. I know I'd be a lot less worried if every week or so I listen and hear the heartbeat at home. does anyone have advice? anyone rent one from dynamic doppler.com? That is the one we like the most for a rental, but if we buy (my sis says she'd want to go halfsies and 6 months rental = half the purchase price) we would get the same kind my doctor uses called Imex Elite for $400 from clafline.com If anyone rented or bought one did you find it easy to use and did you feel like you used it enough to have justified the expense? The PA at the doc office gave me some tips but also made me promise not to freak out or call the office in a panic if I couldn't hear the heartbeat at home every time. She reminded me that most cheaper machines are not anywhere near as strong as theirsm and it took her 5 minutes patiently going back and forth and that unless I tried several times that it doesn't mean anything's wrong. It sounds like they get a LOT of calls from panicked moms who buy the $150 machines and they don't work well enough. If anyone has thoughts on these doppler machines please chime in. thanks! Guest guest
In my opinion you will be feeling baby move in another 8 weeks at least. That is only 2 months of reassurence you will need from the expensive doppler.(that is if they deliver it right away and you do not have to wait 2-6 weeks for delivery of the machine) Once you feel the baby moving on a regular basis that will be daily reassurence. I am cheep and really have a hard time making ends meet as it is so I would save the money especially on the $400 one. Wow that is a lot you could spend on things the baby will need in the up comming year. What ever you choose though it is your decision and nobody elses. It would be nice to hear the heartbeat on a regular basis though. - Diane > Just an update and a question for folks regarding the fetal heartbeat > dopplers. I liked the websites for babybeats and storkradio too. stork radio mentions one of their models is for larger women and hubby (an electrical engineer) looked up and the ones with 2MHz probe are for larger women, most of the models (including baby beats) are 3 MHz probes. How far along were you when you got the one from baby beats and had no problems finding heartbeat? I am still 230 lbs with a belly of extra skin so I hope I'll be able to find a model that works well for me. at the docs office she had to try for 5 minutes or so moving back and forth. thanks again for all the info! My baby is definitly a wiggler! on my 2nd ultrasound at 9 weeks we saw him/her moving around on the screen. very cute! football player or cheerleader in the making there hahaha!
