Guest guest
Hello all! I just joined today. I live in West Texas. I had an Open RNY with Dr. Wood in Detroit, MI in January of 2002. I was 390 and I am now about 215. I am not currently pregnant, but looking to be that way in the next year or two and am very curious about WLS patients and pregnancy. I am terrified of gaining any weight, but I want a healthy baby. My fiance and I (who I met through obesityhelp.com and also had surgery) are getting married next June (I'll be 26, he'll be 35 at that time) and we plan to start a family that fall. Any suggestions? And, other than missing a period, what symptoms do you have? I am always thinking I am prego, even though I'm on the pill...and although I'm not supposed to start until next week I spotted for three days this week and then it stopped...and I'm super tired. I say this, but I also am working full time and going to summer school to finish my degree in December so I'm very stressed and busy. Thanks!!! Guest guest
Welcome a! I wish you the best of luck with everything - marriage; school; weightloss; health and babymaking! I too, had the Wood/Sapala surgery and am still living in the Detroit area. Mine was in August of 1999 (280#) and I have been at my stabalized weight of 135# for nearly four years. I'm in my 22nd wk with #2...having another boy - my 'before surgery' son will be near 7yrs when the baby comes in late November. Please feel free to write me personally. Everyone here is WONDERFUL and you will get so many good posts of advice and make quite a few friends! While all of us here have went through weightloss surgery, there are just a handful that have undergone the Wood/Sapala Micro-Pouch option...and while many believe it's all the same - it's not; our tummies are MUCH smaller than most post-ops. You've joined the best pregnancy support group - get all the information you can and you'll be on your way to a healthy pregnancy! in Detroit

Guest guest
Welcome aboard, a. Wow, I applaud your pro-activeness. You'll learn lots & lots from us. I was 2 yrs+ when I conceived, had some minor & textbk 1st trimester symptoms like food & smell aversions, ligament pain, some dizziness, no biggie. The odd thing, for me, is not knowing if it was nausea or dumping, kinda hard to explain. Keep posting. WlsMomma 18 weeks, 3 days > Hello all! I just joined today. I live in West Texas.
