Guest guest
Hey everyone!! It's Sunday. Even though I'm supposed to be at church right now (I'm the Children's Ministry Director), doing the children's sermons, I have a wonderful friend who also happens to be our discipleship pastor and she's filling in for me at the last minute in light of my having a miscarriage on Friday. I'm just not up to being in front of people just yet. Anyway...I'm using this time to reflect on the loss, but also to reflect on God's great promises and His love. Thanks for everyone who has offered prayers, sympathies and thoughtful words during these days. Today doesn't seem as bad. No tears yet, but it's only 8:33am (CT) and I just woke up. I have a concern about this miscarriage though. Does anyone on the board know anything about ectopic pregnancies?? I'm concerned because of things I've read about it. My miscarriage started out as pain in the right lower abdomen...right about where I feel my ovulation pain. It went to the lower back, which is normal for what I experience when I have my period. The morning after the pain started, I began to spot a brownish colored blood. The next day my bleeding slightly heavier. The thing that makes me wonder about an ectopic pregnancy is that I had a pain in my right shoulder on Friday night. It lasted a couple-three hours then went away. I noticed it again yesterday, although not nearly as severe as it was on Friday night, and it didn't last as long. I've read that's a symptom of an ectopic pregnancy. I've also read that something that increases your chances of having an ectopic pregnancy is having had previous abdominal surgery. Does that include gastric bypass surgery?? I know I'm just probably being super sensitive, but if this is indeed an ectopic pregnancy, I want to see my doctor so that things can be repaired if necessary. Do you think I should go and see my doctor again tomorrow or do you think he'll think I'm nuts?? I haven't seen my OB/GYN throughout this miscarriage, I only saw my primary doctor. Should I make an appt. to see my OB/GYN to ask questions, etc?? Thanks again for your help!! You are truly blessings to me! Love and peace... Guest guest
HI Melody, Typically.. with ectopic's .. you would have been in severe pain since about 4 weeks?? Not a whole lot of room in the tubes to grow a baby. When they did the US the other day and saw the baby... IF it was ectopic.. you would have NEVER left the hospital. I would ask the OB's nurse about the pain tho..just to calm your fears. When I had my miscarriage.. I was in full out " labor " at 14 weeks... I couldn't pinpoint the pain.. as it was sorta all over. Of course my trip had to be via ambulance as I was literally hemmoraging to death with my then 9 month old napping.... I just remember lots of pain... and then the Nubain sorta took care of all that. I do remember once that horrible day was over... I did recover rather quickly.. physically that is. Peace, K in Ft Lauderdale You guys are wonderful Hey everyone!! It's Sunday.
