I am not 11 weeks (due Feb 15) according to my ultrasound, according

to my last period I should be actully almost 13 weeks (Due Feb 5).

My question is that I have lost almost 16 pounds. I lost weight

with my second child, which was pre-op and she was 6 lbs. I am

really worried I am only 11 weeks and have already lost 16 lbs and I

know that most post-op babies are smaller anyway. Does this mean

that I am in for a extra small baby?? I am really worried. My ob

has had some expirence with post-op patients not one with the

procedure that I has thought (RYN) most folks here have the

banding.

Anyone who had weight loss I would love to talk with you.

- I am 11 weeks (due Feb 14) and I am only 4 and a1/2 months out of

surgery. Gastric by pass. I have been to the OB twice and I am steadily losing

weight. My first son was 9.2 LB and I asked the doc if this baby was going

to be considerably smaller had he said that the baby will take what it needs to

grow. As long as I take my vitamins, everything will be OK. I really hope

so because small babies seem so fragile. If you had a 6 pounder the first time

you are just the type to have small babies and I don't think that the weight

loss will effect you or the baby.

I wouldn't worry about the weight loss as you will probabally

stop loosing and start gaining some. I had RNY on 7/14/03 and got

pregnant at 5.5 months out. I originally lost about 20 lbs from the

weekend I got pregnant and finally started gaining at around 20 weeks

(I am now 33 weeks) I have gained about 12 lbs back at this point and

will probabally end up somewhere near where I started in december

when I got pregnant. My baby is growing just fine and measuring right

on the 50th percentile. My family has a history of small babies - I

was only 5lbs 8oz. This is my first but she is headed for 7.5 lbs if

everything keeps going as it is. Make sure you get the nutrition for

you so you feel fine and baby will take what it needs from you. There

are many ladies in here that lost so much and ended up with quite

large babies so I think your baby will be the size it is meant to be

wheather you had surgery or not. Good Luck - Diane

,

I had my WLS in Oct. 2002 and just delivered a healthy 7lb. 1oz. baby girl on

July 13th. I wasn't gaining any weight for the first 3-4 months and I questioned

my OB but he told me that he wasn't worried because I would catch up and that I

did. I gained 28lbs. total and she was only 12ozs. smaller then my daughter was

pre-wls at 7lbs. 13ozs. As long as you are getting your vitamins in and taking

care of yourself then you shouldn't have any problems. Best wishes to you!!
