Guest guest
Hey, Alison. Just wanted to let you know one tidbit about the Ortho-Evra. It is very effective birth control, but I think the label suggests it is only effective for women below 200 pounds. I know you said you are not even 3 months postop quite yet, but perhaps you are under 200 pounds already.......if not, I would not recommend that method at this point either. BTW, I did use Ortho-Evra immediately after surgery as I did not know this restriction and it worked for me.....but if you're not willing to take the chance, I probably wouldn't try it. Good luck finding reliable birth control. It's a Catch 22, unfortunately.......but SOOOO worth it to have lost this weight! Take care, Mandi in Concord, NC Due with baby boy #4 to be delivered 08/04/04 via C-section and boy can I NOT wait!! 316/186 (213 @38 weeks)/
Guest guest
I am about 175 pounds now. I am just trying to figure out what is right for us. I have heard good and bad things about all birth control for those of us that have had wls. I had an open gastric bypass April 26, 2004. I was 228 pounds, the only reason that my Dr. did the surgery was because of the pcos, type II diabetes and infertility. I would really like to be 130 pounds, but I am at a plateau and I am trying to work through it without losing my mind!
