Well,

The doc did a preganancy test on 7/23, that came back negative.

My LMP was 6/12 and had three days of spotting 7/1-7/3. He didn't

seem to concerned about that and not counting it as a period. I saw

him on 7/22 and he did an ultrasound. I had a follicle that measured

14 (not sure what that means). He just called me back and I am to

start progesterone and then clomid on my first day of bleeding. On

days 10,11 or 12; I am to go back in for another ultrasound. Never

had to do this before and I am a little nervous.

Thanks

That sounds alot like the proceedure I went through when we were

doing the clomid thing. The ultrasounds will tell how the folicles

are developing and if they are large enough for fertilization. This

tells the doc how to adjust the dosage of clomid as well as give a

bit of an idea if you will be ovulating and even after ovulating you

can see the empty folicle. Go with things and see how it works out

for you and your doc. Good Luck - Diane

a follicle at 14 is good. My OB ultrasonographer told me they like to

see them over the size of 12.

Since your periods are apparently irregular, the provera will make you

start a full blown period. Then on the first day of bleeding which

will be counted as DAY ONE of your cycle, you start the progesterone

and clomid. If you have a problem carrying a pregnancy because of a

luteal phase defect, the progesterone can help give you the extra

progesterone boost to help prevent a miscarriage from low levels. The

clomid should last for 5 days right? Days 1-5 of your cycle? There are

so many clomid days combinations, mine used 5-9 twice and then 4-8

once then 3-7 once. (one of the 5-9 days was successful.

On day 10 I went in for an ultrasound and she saw 12 follicles (TWELVE

POSSIBILITES OF 12 BABIES!!!!!!!!) and 2 days later I went in for my

artifical insemination as I had cervical issues and wasn't getting the

spermies to the eggies.

well, thankfully, just one spermie made it into one eggie and I have a

beautiful babie! Take a look at my profile pic and you'll see the

*products* of my efforts!!

I was nervous as well, but the book, " Taking Charge of Your Fertility "

by Toni Weschler was wonderful. I suggest ANYONE trying to get

pregnant by this book and read it cover to cover!

GOOD LUCK AND BEST WISHES!!!!

:)

Bobbie,

sorry, its me again. You didn't mention what your fertility issues

are, but dont let them waste alot of time doing more than one or two

provera/clomid combination cycles without finding out the cause of

your infertility. I had endocervical polyps that the sperm were trying

to fertilize rather than the egg and before they discovered the polyps

weren't what they wanted, they died off. (sperms not too smart

according to my fertility specialist! lol)

GOOD LUCK!

Hi Shelia,

I had PCOS pre WLS; he thinks it is gone, but my system is still way

out of wack. He couldn't even be sure I wasn't pregnant last week

since I am having all the pregnancy symptoms. I have the sore and

enlarged breasts; mucusy discharge, have to urinate often and I have

been really tired. I just think my body doesn't know what to do. I

had no problems with my first child who is 4 now. I didn't have any

problems until delivery. My pelvis was to small (go figure, the

only thing small on me at that time). I have had the test done

where they shot dye thru your tubes, and I will never do that again.

I have 8 days of progesterone then a 5 day cycle of clomid at 100mg,

starting the first day of bleeding. He then wants to see me on day

10,11 or 12. It is just so strange, cuz I never had a problem

getting pregant with my first one and I am 70 lbs lighter now.

Well, I guess I need to quit rambeling. Thanks for the info!
