Hi everyone! Well, the first attempt at becoming pregnant didn't

work :-( But, as my husband pointed out, we'll keep trying! I did

go to see my OB today to do a prenatal consultation since I'm

concerned about how I've been spotting before my period starts. She

wants me to have bloodwork done tomorrow and have a sonogram done on

Monday to see if she can figure out what is going on. She also told

me that she recommends couples have sex on day 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18

and 20 of their cycle - has anyone else heard of this? And does that

mean that day 8 is the 8th day after the first day of your period? I

always thought it was best to have sex on the most fertile days right

before you ovulated...I'm so confused now!

Day 1 of your period is considered DAY 1 of your cycle (first full day

of bleeding- spotting doesn't count).

My fertility specialist told us we could have sex EVERY day of my

cycles from days 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, & 16 b/c my hubby is a

" stallion " (450 million sperm count per teaspoon!) *blush*

if your hubby doesn't know what his count is, or if its normal, most

suggest having sex every other day.

HTH,

Sheila

ovulate, she is covering a broad range of days to be certain to catch

the right day.

Unless you are using ovulation predictors you will not know when you

are fertile. By having sex in increments it helps you to be close to

the day of ovulation but if you have sex every day at what you think

is your fertile time it can decrease the sperm count. You can get

pregnant by having sex a day or two before you ovulate and a day or

two after you ovulate because the sperm can live that long inside of

you. That was the first approach of my doc before we started trying

the fertility treatments. Good Luck it takes most people several

months of trying before they concieve. - Diane
