Guest guest
A certain co-worker has made a point of continuously informing me that I'm showing. At least once or twice a week, for the past couple of weeks she has to bring it up. Mmmmmm. We've worked together for more than 7 years, so she's seen me in the whole range of sizes, from 22 pre-op to size 6 until recently. I'd say she's definitely a w l surgery candidate, what's the deal with the preoccupation with my size? My truthful response to her is that I want to get huge b/c that means I get to meet my little man soon. Btw, I usually don't mind when others subtle-ly mention it. Guest guest
Now.. I am blunt and borderline rude at times to people who point out my weight. 15 years of over self defensiveness and aggrevation and hurt... etc.. My response would be: Hmmm... shouldn't you be worrying about YOUR size before you start to worry about MY size?? Guest guest
I was in the bathroom at Costco last week and a very big 350+ pound woman said to me....Boy your huge!!! My response was........Well at least I have an excuse for being this size. My mother was shocked at what I said and told me that I should be more sympathetic to the lady and not so mean...because I used to be that size. I told my mom that the big lady should be more sensitive to comments about weight and keep her big fat mouth shut. At this point I have no tolerance at all for comments about my size. Guest guest
My favorite response to ANY question that I consider rude is a pointed, " Why do you ask? " If they really aren't asking to be malicious, maybe they will say so, but if they are just being mean, this usually shuts them right up without extensive rudeness from you. Guest guest
I think I would politely tell her " well that is a good thing since in case you didn't know....I AM PREGNANT!! " Maybe she doesn't realize what she is doing so if you just tell her once then maybe she will get the hint but if she is the kind of person that doesn't get things subtly then tell her to please stop bringing it up. Guest guest
you all have good comments to people that make comments about size. Before my wls I would have never had the courage to say something like that. I wouldn't think twice about it now. I know that nearly 80 pounds ago I felt horrible and now I feel much better and confident about myself. Maybe someday I'll be able to ttc, too! I love reading and learning from all of you. Thanks! Guest guest
Hey Chrystal. Seems to be a pattern, the chick obsessed with my size is also MO, hmmmm. Just like the CostCo gal. I'm way too restrained to blurt stuff out, something about being in the legal profession, the self composure is way too @*%*# ingrained, lol. Anyway, is it baby time for you? It seems that even repeat moms can drag out their due date. Where do you get the saintly patience;-) WlsMomma > I was in the bathroom at Costco last week and a very big 350+ pound woman said to me....Boy your huge!!! > > Chrystal > > Wife to Jace - together 6 Years! > Happy Mommy to - 4 Years Old! > Jonas Due July 28, 2004! > Zookeeper for 2 big dogs and 6 cats who let me feed them! > http://chrystallife.50megs.com/ > http://members.ebay.com/aboutme/seeswensonauctions/
Guest guest
Fortunately, she hasn't mentioned anything today, even considering the white top I have on. She phrased it in statement form---apparently she doesn't own a mirror. It's gonna be an interesting rest of the pg, 18 some odd weeks to go. Guest guest
Thanks, . It's a real pet peeve of mine----I DON'T go around pointing out people's weight gains, etc. I would never think of mentioning to this lady that she gained all her weight back subsequent to her daughter's wedding. So why is she talking about my baby belly? Rrrrrr. WlsMomma PS How is little ? > I think I would politely tell her " well that is a good thing since in case you didn't know....I AM PREGNANT!!
