Hello everyone, I wish all the new mommies much baby happiness and

speedy recoveries.

I seen my doctor on Monday. She said that all my labs and everything

so far looks great. We talked about weight gain and she said that

from the time I first started to see her until now I have only gained

3.5lbs. She said that this was good for being 17 weeks. Problem, I

feel huge already. Like I am growing overnight. Could that be

possible? Doc explained where my uterus is and that it is pushing all

my intestines up and that could be why I am feeling big. We have

still only heard 1 heart beat so I dont think it is twins. But maybe

they have my due date wrong and I am farther along than estimated. At

my first us they seen the sac and a weeeee peanut. But that was at 6

weeks they thought. So who knows. Did or does anyone else feel like

this so soon? (only 17 weeks)

Thanks,

Shalonda

Hello there!

I had to reply as I can totally relate to how you are feeling. I now only have

3 weeks to go until delivery and feel absolutely huge! I did feel this way

throughout my pregnancy though; however, I did put the scale away at about 6

months and I wish I had done that from the start. That was a HUGE feat within

itself as I haven't been able to do that since my surgery; I am bad as I weighed

myself everyday (bad habit I know!). I have gained 36 pounds to date and am

measuring right at 36 1/2 weeks (which is within the " normal " range) but I still

cannot get past feeling so big. I am 3.5 years out from surgery and for so long

my weight has been the center of my life... now I am just trying to remember

that I have a " reason " to be big... my baby is growing and is healthy so bring

it on! haha

Have a great day everyone,

Ivy Nielsen (was Kennedy! I just got married 7/9/04)

be 10 yrs old 9/25/04.

I feel the same way.. I am almost 25 weeks and have gained 8

pounds.. but I feel HUGE!! At my last ultrasound a couple weeks ago -

my son was already a pound and a half.. so I am thinking that at

least 2 pounds of the 8 is baby.. but still.. I feel tremendous.. Is

8 pounds too much? too little?? I start with a brand new OB on

Monday - I moved.. so it'll be interesting to see what she has to

say..
