Guest guest
Hello All, Well the day started normal. My mom, son and I went to the park and BJ's wholesale club and then came home. Then one of our dogs started going crazy barking in the backyard - she is a besenji and doesn't ever make a peep. I went into the backyard and saw that the extension cord that we use to charge s Power Wheels Car & Motorcycle was on fire. I grabbed a fire extringuisher and my mom called 911. I put out the fire after all that goo inside blew into my face and all over me....uggh. The firemen left - I did a good job. Then about 5 minutes later - my tongue starts swelling, my hands are itching, my feet are itching and I am bright red. I literally couldn't breath and I start having major can't walk contractions. My mom put me and in the car and drove 2 blocks to the ER where they rushed me in and gave me everything....Epinepherine, Benadryl, oxygen, etc, etc, etc.....The whole nine yards for allergic reaction. My contractions were coming regularly every 2 minutes apart. After being stabilized they wanted to transfer me down to the hospital I am going to give birth at but I still had all that fire extinguisher stuff all over my hair and body so I asked if my hubby could just drive me. I came home took a shower and lay on the bed a few hours and the contractions still did not stop. So we went down to the baby hospital and they confirmed yes I am in early labor - the baby is fine. I am 2 cm dilated, 80 % effaced, and still at zero station. I was exhausted but still hyper from the drugs from the ER and they gave me 2 ambien and put me in the car and sent me home telling us to come back when the contractions are stronger. So we got home early this morning and I slept like I haven't slept since I got pregnant. I'm still having contractions every 2 minutes but they are not terribly strong. I notice them and they are uncomfortable but nothing like I know they can be..... So we are just waiting. Honestly - has anyone ever heard of anyone being allergic to what's inside of a fire extinguisher? My darling husband feels horrible - so horrible that he is doing what he does best when he is stressed.....sleeping. I am so glad my mom was here I think she truly saved my life getting me to the ER so quickly because I couldn't even talk to call 911 and I know I couldn't drive. Well I'm going to try to relax in between all these contractions and I will keep you all updated. Chrystal Wife to Jace - together 6 Years! Happy Mommy to - 4 Years Old! Jonas Due July 28, 2004! Guest guest
Chrystal, That is awful what happened to you. Who would of thought someone could be allergic to that but it just shows that you can be allergic to anything. I hope that you are feeling better now. I hope the next time we hear from you, you have some good news for us like the arrival of little Jonas. Good luck!!
