Guest guest
Hello, I had Open RNY last October and was 3 and a half months post op when I found out I am pregnant. I haven't had any problems at all. There are a lot of us who are less than a year post op and a lot who have been. All the babies have been fine and so have the moms. Take your vitamins and calcium. And eat what you can. The baby is going to take first. I seem to have to eat at least every 2 hours. I have lost 132 pounds and had lost 100 before finding out I was pregnant. I still have 80 to go after the baby. Best of luck to you. If you need any more help or advise let me know.
Guest guest
I got pregnant about six weeks out. My OB that had previous experience with wls patient didn't even think that I needed to be high risk. Well I did end up seeing a perinatologist for other reasons that resulted from a blood transfusion that I had to have after surgery... anyway when going over my history with them (I saw two), they both mentioned a study that was just published in the medical journals. I think the study was done in Brazil. They used a larger than normal group of women for the study and my docs say that the risks were really no higher than those in normal women. They assured me that I didn't need to worry as they weren't. They did however suggest that starting at 26 weeks I have growth scans every 4 weeks. I've had 3 u/s so far and the baby even grew a week to catch up to it's age. At 8 weeks it measured about a weed smaller. They say that's typical that early in pg. By 12 weeks it measured right on. Sorry if I babbling but the point I'm trying to make is... DO NOT ABORT for this reason.
