Guest guest
Hey jeanette, My OB was the one who ordered all my blood work but it ws after I was already prego. He ordered thyroid and iron, b's and whatever else theya re suposed to check to make sure you are getting the proper nutrition. I did nothing different this time than with any other pregnancy I had before WLS except i did not drink the glucose stuff for the test, I took a fasting blood test instead. The glucose stuff may make you dump. Just be sure to be taking all your vitamins. i took my regular vitamin, my prenantal, folic acid, calcium and b-12 sublingials throughout the whole pregnancy. I do not breastfeed but am on a group who has alot of Mommy's on it who did and do right now, one of our Mommies is still breastfeeding her 2 1/2 year old son AND her new 4 month old baby girl. Good Luck to you TTC. Guest guest
Hey there everybody! I have enjoyed reading lots about all your journies into WLS as well as Post op pregnancies. I have some questions about specific things related to pregnancy after WLS. Did anyone have specific bloodwork done when they were TTC only because you were a WLS post op patient? I do not have a great relationship with my WL surgeon and am my OB/GYN's first WLS patient. I had bloodwork done in like March and everything looked great then but I wonder if the OB looks for specific things prior to getting preggo? Who ordered the bloodwork? The OB or WL surgeon? Has anyone nursed after WLS? I did with my son for 4 months but would have liked to longer (he was sick with RSV at 8 weeks and nursing was so much more difficult for him than using a bottle). Are there any health risks to the baby if I nurse? Will I need to talk to my pediatrician about it?? I have been a bad bad girl with post op vitamins. I am diligent with the prenatals but I wonder what you all did about vitamins when you were TTC? The iron in the prenatals are agreeing fine, but the post op vitamins had just way too much iron and I had a LOT of constipation with them. I would rather not revisit that. I know folic acid is vital for brain development and TTC. Did anyone take extra folic acid to up the chances while TTC?? Thanks in advance for your feedback =) Jeanette in IL Lap RNY 5-9-03 264/145/135?? TTC since 7/
