I get those pains from time to time... and since it is no where near my

hernia... I have chalked it up to trapped Gas.

Everything is all squished up right now...

I have taken some Gas X pills.. and they seem to help a bit...

I also drink some Diet soda... and the carbonation helps too...

But.. if you are in that much pain and concerned, I would see your surgeon!

hi all

It's me...again... It's 3:43am CST and I've been awake since 1

something.... I'm so exhausted but the pain keeps me awake. I just

took a couple of swigs of mylanta to see if that would help. So far

nothing much ....

My doc isn't familiar with wls or anything pertaining to it and so

i'm wondering if should switch.... i dunno.... i'm in such pain and

she's just like " well you can massage it, or try a heat compress but

other than that there's nothing that can be done... " Damn....

that's it?! This is that kind of pain that almost makes your eyes

water at times! It's not sharp and stabbing...it's just there....and

it hurts like hell.... and all she can say is " oh well, nothing can

be done " .

I'm sorry to sit here and vent on y'all like this but I have no one

else to complain to. I don't dare wake up hubby since the poor guy

didn't sleep much last night either and he has to get up for work in

the morning....

Hi, this is in Nevada and when I was pregnant prior to WLS I

had the same kind of pain you are talking about. It ended up being my

Gall Bladder and an infection in my pancreas. You might talk to you

doc about doing a simple blood test and possible an ultrasound to

look for gall stone. I really think that passing one of those stones

was worse that labor, it was truly awful. Anyway, just a thought,

good luck and keep you chin up.

I agree!

Here's what I found online:

Gall Bladder Attack Symptoms

Acute onset of fever.

Pain in the right upper abdomen, under or below the rib cage.

Ingestion of fatty foods that produce pain in the abdominal area may

indicate a chronic problem.

Mild Jaundice (may be noticed in the whites of the eyes).

Enlarged and tender area detected upon palpation just to the right

below the rib cage.

Vague abdominal pain possible with chronic gall bladder conditions.

Hi

I had my gall bladder out when I had my wls. To top it off, this

pain seems like the same pain I felt in the first trimester of this

pregnancy. I had gone to a GI doc and had as many tests done as

possible and nothing came up. Had bloodwork done and everything you

can imagine but all came back negative. Go figure.... he chalked it

up to scar tissue... I just don't know if I'm convinced. I do have

a hernia but the pain isn't exactly on the spot of the hernia....
