Guest guest
Hi Sharon, Welcome! This is a great group and very helpful. You are wise to research things first.....I have known of 3 women (personally) who live near me who have had RNY surgery and have gotten pregnant and delivered perfectly normal healthy babies at full term. They all were at least 1 year post-op prior to conceiving. I know many surgeons suggest you wait 1-2 years before getting pregnant.....however, there are plenty of women out there who accidentally get pregnant before that time and they seem to do well also.....I know there are definitely some things to consider when trying to conceive after having this surgery.......I do believe the longer you wait after the majority of your weight is lost, the better you will do long term. That has been my personal experience and I have witnessed that with others as well. I think you will find lots of support here. Feel free to ask any questions you have.......We'll jump in and offer help if we have answers.....or at least an opinion or experience......
