Guest guest
We hopefully find out Wednesday if we are having a boy or girl, and if its a boy, hubby is very adamant about having him circumcised, as is my mom and the rest of the family. I on the other hand am not so sure. Ignorance and feeling like hubby would know better since he is a man and has had it done has led me to be more docile about it, but after reading your email, I am going to take a more active approach if our baby is indeed a boy. Thanks for the info and the links. V This information from one of the sites sums it up for me. " Routine infant circumcision is not practiced in most medically advanced nations. Unlike American parents, few parents worldwide are actually faced with this choice. Their babies are automatically brought home intact. 82% of the world's living men are intact. --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). V ======== My experience... my husband (who was circ'd) (and who is a minister) was adamant that our son NOT be circ'd, that according to the book of Galatians, it was no longer a requirement in Scripture. For me, I didn't think it was even going to be an issue because they had told me on the ultrasound at 27 weeks that I was having a girl. When my SON was born, I absolutely could not bear the notion of anyone doing anything to him that wasn't absolutely necessary. I could barely stand to let the nurses take him out of my room for stuff like bathing and weighing and stuff, much less bear the thought of someone even coming close to him with a scalpel. LOL I felt like a mother tiger. GROWL! He's now almost five (August 24th) and he can retract his own foreskin and clean it during bath time. That's just my experience, though. Each family needs to decide on their own what they will do... do your homework, seek out wise counsel if you feel you need it, but ultimately you need to make a decision that isn't coerced by anyone else, pro-circ or anti-circ. There are rabid supporters of both sides, and I just don't think in the end it's really *that* big a deal. -- Kris Wood " Whether we're a preschooler or a young teen, a graduating college senior or a retired person, we human beings all want to know that we're acceptable, that our being alive somehow makes a difference in the lives of others. Guest guest
I had all 3 of my boys done and it was not too bad and they healed very fast. Emerson was done fast and was brought right back to me and he was not crying and seemed very content. I use alot of ointment on the penis after so it stays lubricated and no pee can get to it. God Bless, Robin Wife to Pup for 15 years Mommy to- and (twin boys, 8 years) and Daughter Madison- age 5 1/2 and new Mommy to- Emerson Roger born July 28, 2004 at 4:11 am 8lbs 7 oz, 20 1/2 inches long.
