Guest guest
My brother had to get his done at age 13 years old and my mom said she had to fill the tub just for him to sit in it to go pee cause it hurt sooo bad at that age. My brother Joe is still not done and he said his foreskin had ripped on him a couple of different times while having sex with his wife. I would rather have it done and over with NOW than have to do it later in life. Guest guest
The skin is not like an eyelid and there are many many cases where men do not wash under-- and much sexually transmitted diseases and bacteria grow under it -- There is not much pain and some tylenol is given if the baby is fussy. Also I have seen many adults who have the phimosis where the foreskin becomes tight and they have to have it done as an adult. that is painful. Connie -- Re: Circumcision I had all 3 of my boys done and it was not too bad and they healed very fast. Emerson was done fast and was brought right back to me and he was not crying and seemed very content. I use alot of ointment on the penis after so it stays lubricated and no pee can get to it. Guest guest
Sheila, my kids have screamed more for shots at the docs office than for being circumcised. I have not felt guilty about it either.I did start to feel bad about doing it when they came to get Emerson for his but I knew it would be over fast and went thru with it and was glad for him that I did. Guest guest
Hi, I wanted to add for those of you scared b/c of the pain aspect of a circ. I have assisted in numerous circs and I must say that although the baby is startled when the clamp is applied, they are MOST angry that they are being held down. After the procedure is over (3-5 minutes tops at our hospital) and the child can be picked up and soothed, they nearly ALL (97%) stop crying immediately. Yes, I think they feel pain, but not to the extent that my best friends son (age 12) felt when he had his circ. You can request Tylenol be given a half hour before the procedure but again, even the ones not medicated, stop crying when they are released from their little body cradle. Yes, I chose to circ and do not feel guilty about it. There are many decisions we have to make for our children before they can, and having seen what my best friend's son went through, it was so traumatizing to him. Unfortunately, we do not have working crystal balls to show us the results/outcomes of all of our decison making in life, huh? Guest guest
, When my son was born 2 and a half years ago, we had him circumcised. If you have a son, he will appreciate you when he is married. This is totally ya'lls decision too. Your husband says " yes " b/c he knows all about that kind of stuff and does not want to embarrass your son by not having it done. D.
