Guest guest
Hi , I just had my baby boy and I had gaihned 50 pounds for hte pregnancy, I felt so terrible each time I saw the scale go up but as time went on I was better with it and accepted that I would have to try much harder after I had him to get the rest off. I was 378 when I has my GBS and was 80 pounds from goal also. Now that I have had the baby I know I have lost quite a bit of the pregnancy weight but not sure how much. i know to me I look the same as I did before I got pregnant,a ctually my butt is flatter. My appetite has started returning to normal and I have not been able to tolerate sweets anymore, which is great. i craved them too and had a very hard time to stay away from them. Just try your best, keep fruits handy, I ate tons of peaches and strawberries while pregnant, and I mean ALOT of them but I did have junk too, ALOT OF IT Good Luck and Congratulations on your baby girl coming. Guest guest
Hello, I was 3and a half months post op open RNY 10/3/03 when I found out I was pregnant. Miracle because I had tried for 12 years to get pregnant. Never thought I would get pregnant again. I had lost 100 pounds up to that point and I have lost another 32 pounds since finding out I was pregnant. Now It has slowed way down, infact I gained 4 pounds last month. I think I am up another 2 so far this month. I am really struggling with this. I know that it is baby weight, and weight gain is expected, I just don't feel ready to see the scale going up. I feel really depressed about it. I know I haven't been eatting all that great too. I can't stand chicken (I vomit every time I eat it) Too much protien makes me sick too. I have been craving chocolate, anything with sugar, crackers and chips and salsa. I still am only eatting about 4 to 6 ounces at a time, so I know I am not over eatting these things, but I feel out of control. I am afraid that I won't be able to get it back together after the baby comes to finish losing the rest of my weight. I still have 80 pounds to go to goal. I have made it a goal to try to eat healthy, but it just isn't happening the cravings are really strong. Any advice would be helpful. I have been walking every morning about 45 minutes, but was just grounded from this as I have started to have some cramping after walking. I feel like I am in a rut! Sorry to dump on you all, but I really need some advice, or encouragment. Oh I am 6 months pregnant due November 4.04 with a little girl. very excited about this as I have two boys. Thanks Open RNY 10/3/03 377/248/165 after baby EDD 11/4/
Guest guest
jenny, from what i've seen in this group, you are perfectly normal. of course it's going to be a kick in the ego to sain weight after losing it. but be assured as everyone post baby as said, the baby weight will fall off you when your darling little girl arrives and you can work on losing the other 80 after that. i think it's okay to crave the sweets, like you said, you aren't over doing it. jsut try sugar free chocolate and stuff like that. if you stilll want to walk, walk 15-30 min instead of the 45 you were doing. jsut some suggestions, take it or leave it, but know that you are perfectly normal and it's going to be okay...hugs, jenn aka mom2ben99 (jennilee75@...) Guest guest
- Every day is a chance to start over with eating right for you and your baby. You cannot look at what you did yesterday - that will not help the situation. All you can do is say, for my next meal, I will eat things that are good for me and my baby. Take one meal at time and it will not look so overwhelming. You cannot take on the next three months in one day, no one can. Take a deep breath and everything will be fine. You have the best motivation in the world to take good care of yourself - your daughter! Guest guest
I have struggled with similar issues. I am now 36 weeks pregnant and was only 6 months out of surgery when I found out.( at that time I was 80 lbs from goal too) My advice to you is to First puit the scale away and only let your doctor weigh you. At that time if it bothers you get on the scale backwards and have them only tell you if they see any issue with weit loss or gain. That way it becomes a non issue with you and you KNOW that is not what you will be focusing on during this time. Don't worry about the weight gain because it will more than likly not be too much and you still have your tool to use after you give birth. As far as the cravings and eating go my advice would be to try your hardest to get the needed protein in daily and do give in to cravings also. Your body craves things for reasons and even if you do not see the reason you still hvae them so work with them but use MODERATION. A little bit of this or that will not hurt you and can control the cravings but it is when you eat a lot of the " bad " stuff and do not get the nutrition in that you have a problem. You crave chocloalte so try buying a candy bar (when you are not hungry) and cutting it in 3 pieces. Put the pieces in the freezer in a zip lock bag. Only eat 1 piece in 3-5 hours or something like that or choose to make some instant SF pudding - the milk will be good for you anyway. Chips and salsa - salsa is not bad anyway but buy the lunch size bags of chips to use - only do 1 in a day. You can curb the cravings with out going overboard. Try these kinds of things and you'll be fine and ready to be back on track after your little girl gets here.
