Guest guest
I'm appologizing to anyone who was offended by my last post. Circcumcision is something I feel strongly about because some of close friends and family members have been hurt by it and by misinformation about it. It's hard to watch people you care about in pain and I just wanted to prevent that. My intention was never to make anyone feel guilty for their decision. We all need to do what we feel in our hearts in best for our children. No one can ask or expect any more than that of us. We shouldn't feel guilty for a decision we made based on the info. we had at the time. What's best for one isn't necessarily what's best for another. I'm sure everyone here does what they believe is best for their children and I my intent was not to criticise that. I just wanted to be sure those asking for information got it. I'm sorry to anyone I offended. __________________________________________________

Hi I've read both sides of the discussion. The thing is about this particular decision, there is NO way for any of us to know the right thing to do unless one's religion mandates it. For those of us whose religion doesn't cover it, well, for the women anyway we lack the insights needed regarding sensitivity, emotional issues (is baby boy growing up looking different from daddy?) things like that. All the studies in world can only compare apples to oranges on this issue because there is no way to objectively say if we hadn't circumcised at this age, xyz would be the case. There is no way to know how it feels for the young boys who get it done as children or pre-teens rather than infants, or those who get it done as an adult. Being male and knowing pre-snippage vs post-snippage they may have some comparison at least to know what they felt and went through beofre vs after, but for most babies we can have no true understanding of all the issues that will affect them. You said it best with everyone here does what they believe best for their children, but unfortunately on this topic we can just never be sure if we are making the right decision. that's just one more reason why I'm hoping i have a girl! hahaha!
