Guest guest
Hi a - My husband and I decided to start trying and the first month of us trying and on the 12 day of my cycle, we got pregnant with our first baby. We were so not expecting it to happen so fast, because a lot of the couples that we knew tried for a few months or even years before they became pregnant. So if you have a regular cycle then that is mostly likely when you ovulate. If you have been on birth control it might take you a couple of months to figure out if you have a regular cycle, but I was on birth control and we hit the first month. So best of luck to you. Guest guest
My name is a. I am 25 and just about 18 months out from my open RNY. We live in MN. We just started to try to have a baby. I have been lurking for awhile, but I plan to get more involved now that we are offically " trying. " I have a question for those who are already prego - my book says that the most likely day for you to concieve is 2 weeks after your period first starts. I was just wondering how many of you that was true for. I just want to make sure I don't miss an opportunity because we only did it certain days. Any input is appreciated! -a

Guest guest
a, I have an unusually long cycle and don't ovulate until 3 weeks after the first day of my last period (FDLP). There are several sites that have ovulation predictor calculators that have you type in the FDLP and many go by a 28 day cycle automatically. That's fine if you have a 28 day cycle, but mine is 35 days. You might want to check it out. The most effective way that I think most women get preggo is learning about and testing the changing cervix and cervical mucus. That is the best way to pin point when you are ovulating. When I got preggo with my son, pre WLS, we were successful on our first try because I did research about that stuff and knew EXACTLY when I was ready! Good luck! How long is it suppose to last? When is the longest any one has seen the mucus while or after ovulating? --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well.. for me I get the mucus only 1 day.. and I assume it's Ovulation day. For me it's no mistaking what it is... I get one " clump " okay... I know.. nasty right? and that's it... I guess the rest is hanging around the cervix.. just waiting for some action? *************************************************** K in Ft Lauderdale Noah - 10/14/02 - 31 weeker Jonah - edd 11/18/04 ( currently High Risk Pg.. not WLS related) Open RNY - 12/02/03 262/200/someday maybe in the 120's??
