Getting pregnant

Aloha!

I am new to this group, but wanted to find out if anyone has

experienced the medical problems I have had before gstric bypass and

got pregnant.

I was 359 pounds the day of my surgery. I was on insulin and had

cardiomyopathy from a virus 12 years ago. Since surgery I no longer

take insulin and my heart function has greatly improved. I have lost

144 pounds since my surgery on 9/8/03.

I want to start trying in January and I am worried that my OB/GYN

being unfamiliar with Post op gastric bypass patients might deter me

from getting pregnant out of lack of knowledge.

Did anyone have any problems like this and got pregnant and had a

healthy pregnancy?

Take Care!

Welcome & congrats on your weight loss, Cessy. Did you also have

surgery in Hawaii? If so, then he/she should be able to refer you.

(or maybe ASBS.org??)

Mmmm, my OB's offc wanted some info from my dh's cardiologist, so

hopefully your future doc will be pro active & thorough, too.

Best wishes:-)
