Guest guest
Hi Ladies, I'm three years post-op RNY. I lost 150 lbs but have had about 20 lbs rebound in the last year and a half. I think I'm stablizing now. Hubby and I have been married five years this past June, and originally had said no kids....well we've decided to go for it! I'm 34, and *finally* feel ready to have kids. I have been on prenatal vities for a month now, and have been off of birth control pills for about year (although, until about a month ago we were still using condoms). I didn't realize I was supposed to stop my normal post op vitie regime until I posted a question on obesityhelp, and found out that I could be o.d.ing on some vities. So now I am taking the prenat (contains iron), B, and then later in the day, calcium citrate. I am borderline anemic, and am hypoglycemic. I do dump on sugar (and I tend to overeat sugar from time to time.) With all that in mind, I have been really working on eating healthier, to prepare the healthiest environment possible for baby Once I am actually pregnant I will work closely with an OBGYN. I exercise regularly, by walking about 2 miles five days a week, and hitting the " Ladies Workout Express " (like Curves) 2-4 days a week. I do have the very common fear of loosing all control with the food and reverting to my very very bad pre-op ways which would result in a substantial re- gain. That is something I will continue to work through. With that all said...Hi!, I'm as dumb as dirt when it comes to being pregnant...I've been doing a lot of research, but won't reach out to my family and friends until I actually become pregnant. No one (accept my online wls surgery friends) knows that hubby and I are TTC...not even my mom (who will be the first to know when it actually happens) Maybe I'm a little naive, but from what I've researched so far, I think I want to go with a mid wife, and go natural if possible. Well, my " quick " hello dragged on a bit. I'm looking forward to participating in the discussions on this board! Thanks all. -Kim open RNY 7/17/01 282/152/

Guest guest
hi kim, welcome, i'm jennifer, sahm to nearly 5year old benjamin and 15 weeks pregnant with #2. i'm also married (6 years) to currently deployed air force man david. we live in wichita kansas. you aren't naive by wanting a midwife and to go as natural as possible. good luck with that. my first child (ben) was a completely botched emergency csection, so i'm jsut hoping for a possibly uncomplicated vaginal birth after csection (VBAC). then i will also try(if it works this time) to go midwife and natural and possibly at home. we'll see when february comes around. good luck ttc. and welcome to the group!!!! aka mom2ben99 (jennilee75@...) I took thru my whole pregnancy 1 multi vitamin with iron, 1 prenatal vitamin, folic acid, b-12 sublingual and later in the day my calcium citrate. We do not absorb well so that is why the extra vitamins.
