Guest guest
Hi Y'all My name is Crystal and I am from detroit michigan area. I had WLS almost 10 months ago.. and suddenly I am pregnant! My first thought is... " gee... my incision really hurts still.. I wonder if I could even handle labor? " This will be my 5th child.. and only one before was a C-section. Do doctors routinely perform c-sections on WLS patients? Could I still use a midwife at the hospital?
Guest guest
many OB's are going back to " once a c-section, always a c-section. Others will disagree. If you prefer, ttry to locate an OB in your area who is an advoate for VBAC> Having GBS doenst " qualify " for another c-section, but personally, Open ENY ot not, c-section is the ONLY way I'll EVER consider another child. JMHO! Sheila L & D RN -p.s. you say " gee... my incision really hurts still.. I wonder > if I could even handle labor? " ---->>> this would be a major reason NOT to try a vaginal birth plainly for the fact the incision hurts now before your belly ex-pansion, imagine how it will hurt 9 months pregnant. Think long and hard about the pros an cons... > Do doctors routinely perform c-sections on WLS patients? <---no
Guest guest
i had a very bad, rough, long healing, infected csection 5 years ago and i had lap RNY 5 1/2 months ago, i'm 15 weeks pregnant. my perinatologist agreed i could be a canidate for VBAC. as long as i go completely on my own, before my due date, and the baby was smaller then my previous baby (which that's the part i'm nerveous about-he was only 7 lbs 4 ozs). so it is possible to have a vbac after csection and WLS, jsut gotta call the Drs and find out...good luck! aka mom2ben99 (jennilee75@...) As for having had a previous cesarean...VBACs are more controversial in some areas that others. I got pregnant 5 months postop and had a beautiful homebirth VBAC....
