Guest guest
It just occurred to me that I haven't been able to vomit since surgery.. and I am suddenly loathing morning sickness! (Not that I was looking forward to it in the first place LoL) Is it common to not be able to vomit? I am only 4 weeks along.. and haven't been sick yet.. but I know it's coming. Guest guest
Not everyone gets sick. I am just about 10 weeks and have not even had one day of feeling funny or getting sick. I am very happy and lucky, I know, but not everyone will vomit or have morning sickness. Maybe you are just one of the lucky ones. Guest guest
I am another one that has the inability to vomit since surgery. You get no relief.. you just have to sit and suffer through the nausea. I dont think its that uncommon.
Guest guest
I didn't get sick either. Just small spouts of nausea on occasion. I didn't have vomit or sickness through my year and half of gastric bypass either. Only on two occasions did I get sick. Once from ice cream in my 3rd month post op - bad decision and once on spaghetti - eating too fast. I have, although, gotten very picky about my food choices and what I eat. Makes it very frustrating to plan dinner for my family when I don't know what I want till I'm hungry. ~Sandy
Guest guest
I didnt read the original post, but rather just follow up posts and wanted to add my experience. For the first 6-9 months after open RNY, if I coughed too hard my food would come back up into my mouth (vomit). With either pg, before or after WLS, I never had any nausea, vomiting or morning sickness. Perhaps you'll be as lucky as I am. The Dr can prescribe some nausea meds for you to have at home on hand *just in case* you do get sick but generally saltine crackers before getting out of bed appears to help most people. Good luck! I would gag and sound like I had hairballs! I don't know which was worse, if I could vomit at least I'd know when I was done Colleen (around 20 weeks along)
