Guest guest
Good morning everyone! Well, the weepiness and worry have started to creep up on me. So far no real morning sickness, other than just the feeling of feeling crappy off and on throughout the day. I've got a really weird question and I apologize in advance if this grosses anyone out, but I am a complete novice to being pregnant and am just so concerned about doing something wrong. Anyway, here's a little background. I had my VBG in March of 2003 and I've lost 100 pounds - down to 146. I also had my gallbladder out, which I am completely regretting as I still get very bloated and have horrible diarrhea some days. It's really odd but depending on what I eat, it goes right through me in a matter of hours - which isn't supposed to happen since I haven't had anything bypassed. But apparently vegetables (carrots, lettuce specifically) do not agree with me. Well, I had some steak and a little bit of pasta salad last night (which had carrots in it) and a little over an hour later I was in the bathroom. This time the diarrhea wasn't overly bad, but I was doing alot of pushing & straining to get it out so I could get rid of the bloating feeling. My question is - will the pushing & straining affect the baby? I don't go for my first OB appointment until next Tuesday and I didn't see anything on this in the book I'm reading on pregnancy and it's driving me crazy... Guest guest
no tracey, it's not going to affect the baby. the only time bowel movement may affect the baby is later in pregnancy when you are getting ready to go into labor (hence the mythocal? use of mineral oil to put you into labor-the theory is that your bouwels will move and makek the baby move and put you into labor...but this will only happen if you are definitly ready to go into labor.) you are perfectly normal to worry. i personally had LAP RNY 5 1/2 months ago and gallbladder out 5 years ago and i have every BM as diarrhea and have a hard time. sorry for the TMI. jsut watned to let you know i'm in the same boat, and 16 weeks pregnant...don't hesitate to ask any question you are concerned about and if you are still concerned, call your DRs office, they will answer anything also...hugs... aka mom2ben99 (jennilee75@...)
