Hi everyone!

I'm 14 months post op and 3 months pregnant with my first. I'm super

excited and have been working a long time to achieve this pregnancy,

most of which I attribute my success to WLS surgery. It has made me a

healthy, happy girl - thus a better transition for pregnancy.

Can't wait to get to know everyone and learn my way through this

process like other WLS patients.

I'm 34, married 5 years, have 1 stepson, age 10. I live in a suburb

of Buffalo, NY and work full time as a Financial Advisor for an

independent firm. So far, everything checks out great with the

OB/GYN, next appointment is Sept 21st to hear the heart beat. October

18th is my next sonogram and I'm finding out what we are having! I

can't wait.

Glad to be here.

I am 5-6 weeks pregnant and we already have a picture

from the U/S and heard the heart beat. I was in shock

when they let us listen.

The newest ultrs sound machines are amazing and worth

every penny my OBGYN must of paid for it. Picture is

clear also!

Tara, and Group,

Thanks for the warm welcome! This is an exciting time - it's almost like

reliving the whole surgery process, finding out your approved, waiting for

the date, getting preparation done in the mean time, and then the big day!

My husband worries I don't get enough calories. I spent a week calculating

to see where I was and I do get in about 800 - 900 calories consistently.

Some days a little more, some days a little less. Making good choices and

getting in all food groups. I feel everything is fine. I feel good,

prenatals are doing fine and blood work is consistently good.

I told him I would have him talk to the DR on our next appt, he's also

worried because I've lost about 7lbs. Anyone else's spouse feel this way?

I try to make a point when I eat so he's comforted, it's become a joke

almost, because I call him in the middle of the day to tell him my salad was

just delicious! LOL

Sandy,

During my first trimester I LOST 25lbs!!! I had pretty normal " morning

sickness " but with the wls the weight just fell off because I couldn't eat

consistently. Though I was my OB's first wls patient he said he wasn't going to

be concerned about it unless it continued into my second trimester, which it

didn't. In fact the DAY I entered into the second trimester I was able to eat

without problems. My daughter was born just fine and if you want to check for

yourself her pics are the website I think she is pretty darn cute ;), LOL!

Get used to hubby being like this! My husband got to be unbearable towards the

end of my pregnancy, heck he barely allowed me to walk! LOL!!! Its cute

though, how they fuss around you because you are carrying their baby. Take

advantage of it!!! :)

Thank you for the reassurance! It's a great way too look at it, that he

fusses over his childs mommy. LOL

I love it.

Welcome Sandy! and congrats. I am just about 20 weeks along and I

have been struggling with too much weight loss after I became preggo.

I was back in ketosis for a while and still might be so they upped my

calories and carbs and I just do the best I can.

Hubby is doing his best not to be the food police but he does call

himself the food neighborhood watch. ahahha!!

I am also on bedrest and was putting together the grocery list for

last week and started talking myself out of this cinnamon swirl bread

I've liked for toast because I keep telling myself it's bad carbs. he

got this stricken look and said " No you have to keep eating it! You

love it and I come down and smell it in the mornings and I know you

ate something. " It just made me feel so warm and fuzzy inside. he

tries not to show his worry but to know he is concerned makes me feel

protected and cherished. So I keep eating the cinnamon bread hahaha!!!

Just do the best you can and if you can, make an appt with a

nutritionist. My OB clinic has one on staff and she put together a

food plan for me to help guide me gain just the right amount of weight

and hopefully get out of ketosis.

Be well!

Colleen
