Guest guest
Hello everyone, I'm 26w2d pregnant with my first child and have been in severe pain with a toothache for the last three days. I called my ob/gyn to see what I could do, if I could go to the dentist, take for pain, etc. He did say I could go see my dentist and off I went. The dentist wants to send me to an oral surgeon to have two teeth extracted and I'm nervous as hell! She called my ob/gyn (at his request) before taking any x-ray or giving me any pain medicine. I was hoping to wait it out to have these teeth pulled until after my son is born, but I've still got about 3 months to go and I don't think I can wait. Before I call the oral surgeon, I will be calling my ob/gyn for his advice and assurance. I just don't see me waiting more than a few more days with this pain and minimal pain meds. My ob said Tylenol 3 was okay, which I didn't want to take, but couldn't take the pain. Have any of you experienced this type of dental problem during pregnancy??? I'm just so scared, but I need to do something. I didn't realize it was so bad and hoped the pain would go away, but the pain isn't going anywhere and I prefer not to rely on pain meds for more than I really need to. If you've been in my shoes - what did you do?? Please share your experience with me. It would be nice to hear others who have been there and done that. I really appreciate the support of others.
