Guest guest
Hello Everyone, This is my first post but I have been reading and lurking for about six months. Well two HPT's later both saying positive I would say I'M PREGNANT! I'll try not to make this too long. I had an appointment with my PCP this morning for a followup on a whole different matter. Right before I left the house I was thinking my period should be here soon. I have been perfectly regular since my surgery. (I had RNY on 8/26/03 and have lost 112lbs. so far!) I looked at my calendar and thought that I was a week late. I had a HPT at home so I took it. It was positive but I realized it was expired. I saw my dr., told him what I thought, and he did blood work. Of course it won't be available until Tuesday. Tuesday is my 2nd wedding anniversary. Nice time to confirm! I didn't want to wait so I took another HPT and it clearly said I am pregnant. I am in complete shock. Yes, we had been talking about it. I figured it would take a couple of months. One time no protection and BINGO. I should have known reading the post of how fertile so many women are after surgery. I am in complete shock. Excited but shocked. But to the point of my post. I want to tell my husband on our anniversary and I wanted to tell him in some fun way. Any ideas? I will have a lot more questions when this finally sinks in but that's it for know. Thank you for letting me ramble, sorry it is so long! Sherri

Guest guest
O.K. I've posted this one before, but I just think it's too cute. A good friend of mine told her husband this way... She put a fortune in a fortune cookie that said " you may not be able to hit the lotto but your sperm sure hit the jackpot 'cause wer're havin' a baby. " They ate Chinese that night with family and friends and she made sure that he got that particular cookie. He still has it hanging above his work bench in his garage. Does he like Chinese?? Maybe you can have it for dinner that night. > Hello Everyone, > > This is my first post but I have been reading and lurking for about > six months. Guest guest
I gave my husband a present and told him it was for his birthday and I forgot to give it to him (his birthday was a week before). Inside I wrapped the + HPT in tissue paper and put in a baby outfit that said " daddy's girl " and I pinned " or boy " on it! There was also a baby book and a pregnancy book in there. He was very excited! Have fun with it. Guest guest
Sherri, Congratulations! On pregnancy and your weight loss! I took my husband to a restaurant - nothing fancy, just a local steak house and wrote up a cute little note before hand saying " Congratulations - You're having a baby! " and I had the waitress deliver it to him with his favorite preordered desert. He was shocked and surprised. It worked out good. Especially if you get a great waitress who knows the secret. Afterwards, I showed him the HPT. Let us know what you decide to do. And Happy Anniversary!! ~Sandy RNY Dr.Caruana - 5/21/03 330/198 Expecting #1 - 3/17/05 -- Telling My Husband Hello Everyone, This is my first post but I have been reading and lurking for about six months. Guest guest
I had hundreds of ways to tell my hubby that we were pregnant, but month after month of 5-6 negative pg tests, I forgot about 50 each month. After fertility drugs, injections and an artifical insemination, I expected another BFN, but it was positive. I was at work (around 11pm) and ran home to tell him. All the ways I had thought of flew out the window and all I could recall was that I had bought an Anne Geddes Baby calendar a few months before for 2002 (this was Feb 2004) and a " Book of 35K Baby Names " . He was in the shower and I ran in and threw them at him! (yep, they got wet and I jumped in the shower to hug him. lol). Dried off and went back to work...... sooooooo excited I could barely stand it! THink before you tell him is my only advice..lol
Guest guest
Congrats Sherri!!!! This is WONDERFUL!!!!!!! I am so thrilled for you - I had my surgery about 1 month before you. Let's see.. have you figured out a way to tell DH? You could always take the HPT and wrap it up and give it to him as a present! I can't wait to hear about his reaction!
