update: day at the hospital

well all, i woke up this morning having heart palpatations and hardly able to

breath after having (yesterday) a hell of a day not keeping a single thing

down...i called the dr. he had no answering service on that answered, so i

waited til later, ben woke up at 830am, so i called the dr then. he wasn't in,

his nurse said she'd speak with him and call me back when he did get in. about

930am, she called back and after telling him i haven't kept anything down for

two days, having dizziness (that's been ongoing in this pregnancy) and back pain

(i felt like it was kidney pain) and the heart palpatations, she said the DR

wanted me to go to the hospital and get checked out. so i get ben dressed, back

pack full of toys and snacks and we head on our way. i go to admissions and get

checked in (i'm only 16 weeks) and go to labor and delivery. apparently there

is a lot or pretermers today, so the nurse was like you need to go to ER, you

are only 16 weeks, it's not appropriate for us to care for you here. i said

well my dr told me to come here and she called him and sure enough, i'm suppose

to be here, that's where he wanted me...so they get me in a room...11am lab

comes up and does bloodwork, i did the pee in the cup thing and waited, finally

someone came about noon and started paperwork on me and whatever and things get

rolling. i was out of there about 1pm.

i have a kidney infection. i could make an appt with a cardiologist, or just

wait and see if the palpatations go away (which since this is the first time

this is happened, i'll prolly wait). i go for my regular OB appt on sept 8th

(just 5 days away-hopefully we'll see some genitals). no U/S today, but we

heard BEANS heart rate on doppler a strong 150's . i'm low in calcium, protein,

albumin, creatinine and potassium. also low in HGB and HCT and high in RDW (not

sure what those all are). my urine was dark yellow, cloudy, had protein and

ketones and leuco EST, bacteria and mucus in it and i have a high WBC and SQ

EPITH (not sure of those initials either, just writing what's here in my lab

report in front of me. so i got a shot of antibiotic in the booty (still

hurts!!!!!) and i am on augmentin for 10 days. i'm still to take my zofran

(anti nausea med) and the DR will prolly prescribe Phenergan to take at night

when i see him on wednesday (it knocks me out, so i've resisted til now...but

i'm ready to give in.) we'll see what DR says on wednesday. for now, let's

hope until then is uneventful and i kick this infection. i definitly need more

water (hard since everything is coming back up) and to take my vitamins better.

so after being released from the hospital-if you're still with me, i got ben

lunch and went and got scripts filled and came home took a nap, david just

called and i gave him the update (he's shocked and scared all at the same time,

hates being 5000 miles away!) and now i'm doing laundry and hoping to clean my

living room.
