Guest guest
Trisha and Diane, We are all in the same education boat. Iam just getting into the PG boat with you two too. I took a HPT this AM and I am pretty sure it is positive. I will be due May 17th. This past Monday was my first day with students. I found out 2 weeks ago yesterday that I would have a change in position from acting as a sign language interpreter for Mainstreamed students, to teaching K-1 Deaf and Hard of Hearing kids. It was NOT my first choice, but I have to work one more year if I want to be a SAHM when I have this baby. I even concidered quitting and trying to freelance interpret, but I do not have credentials for that. (Note to self, get that ASAP!!) SO, I had Monday-Friday of last week, with 3 days of meetings, to get my class together. The toughest part was that the K-1 class was across the hall last year so most of my time was used to put " stuff " away in closets. I still feel SO disorganized! I have not taught since my son was born so everything has changed in the past 4 years, where curriculum is concerned. I have spent so much time just trying to get to know the new series that I feel like a zombie when I get into actually teach it. NOW I know why I am EXTRA tired lately. Trish, I would be SO excited to have a break so early in the year. Diane, I would also be looking forward to getting one in Jan if I could. Do you think you will go back after winter break or just start your maternity leave at that time? I have to wait the entire 9 months to pass =S That's okay since I will hopefully be able to quit working 30 school days before the school year ends so I will be able to use all my saved sick days. My OB was flexable with that last time and gave me a note about a month before I was due. I plan to not go back to work, full time at least, until the youngest is in kindergarten. Hope you both continue to do well. Trish, I will pray for you to have an easy labor and delivery! Jeanette in IL
Guest guest
Jeanette I am so happy to be getting a break so early in the year - I just do not want to go back. If I could have planned this I would have had my due date in the end of April - beginning of May so I wouldn't have to be there at the end of the yearand would then have the summer 6 weeks off. We go till the end of June. I work at an inner city school so it is especially rough in the spring. Things happen for a reason though so this is meant to be this way for some reason. Good Luck getting started with your new class and keep us updated on your progress. - Diane > Trisha and Diane, > > We are all in the same education boat. Guest guest
Diane, I hope this comes after you have had your little one. Sorry it has taken me so long to reply. I just can't seem to find the time to get on here regularly. I have not had my OB appointment yet, but according to the web sites I should be due in the middle of May. We go until June 10th which means if I don't take any sick days this year I should be able to stop working at the end of April and get paid until the end of the year. This is an especially difficult year for me, adjusting back to teaching, so I am looking forward to that SO much! Hope things go well for you! Guest guest
Unfortunately I am still here awaiting the arrival of my little girl. The doctor wrote me a letter saying that it was in the best intrest of my pregnancy to be on rest until I deliver. I had my last day at work last Wednesday. That is making me so happy in itself. I feel impatient now wanting to hold my baby and today she isn't moving much at all so I feel a little worried. Her pattern has been though a couple of days of a lot of activity and a couple of days of rest and the doctor said as long as I feel 15 movements in one day not to be worried. I have only felt 7 so far and it is still early but this time it makes me feel uneasy for some reason. I think it is because I am so close and now think about having a stillborn. If there is something to worry about I guess a pregnant mother will worry. Good luck with your school year and your pregnancy - I hope all goes smoothly. - Diane > > > Trisha and Diane, > > > > > > We are all in the same education boat.
