Ginny,

My email is ctshepherd@..., but here is the basics on my doctor:

Dr Elariny

He does have a website that has a ton of information on it and you

can make your appointment online as well. The website is

www.alagsa.com

He has a dietician on staff as well as a plastic surgeon. There is a

mandatory informational meeting that you have to attend and then he

requires a lot of pre-op tests depending on your situation. There is

a support group that meets every Tuesday evening at INOVA FairOaks

Hospital from 7-9 and they also have yahoo message boards. Let me

know if you want any other info. I'm hoping to go to the next support

group meeting - I haven't been to one in a while as Tuesday's aren't

the best of nights for me.

It took me a little while to feel like myself after the surgery. I

also had my gallbladder removed and he fixed a hiatal hernia.

Recovering from the surgery was easy, it was just learning how to eat

and what to eat that was more difficult. I've known some people that

have had their surgeries open and it was really hard for them to

recover. But everyone is different.

Take care!

Tracey
