Hello, me again, I spoke with my ob/gyn's nurse today and she recommended

that I wait a week before doing a hpt. I don't feel any different. I am not

tired anymore and I don't have any symptoms. The only symptom that I have is

that my period is 4 days late. I was just wondering what your symptons were and

if since wls there was anything new that I should watch out for. I just don't

want to test and have a negative. Is there anyone out there that has pcos and

has gotten pregnant on their own after wls?

I am fairly certain that many of us got pregnant on our own, many

without knowing it even. I didn't have any symptoms that I noticed

until I was about 6 or 8 weeks along. Your OB recommended that you

wait a week and you are 4 days late? Thats odd don't you think?

All the tests say that they can detect positive the first day of

your missed period... Anyway, if your OB says wait, I would wait,

but if you are that early on, it is going to be rare that you are

exibiting any strong symptoms. At least as far as I could tell. I

had no idea I was pregnant until I was 6 weeks, almost 7. The

symptoms that will start showing up that early are also symptoms of

PMS so I wouldn't get hopes up from anything but the test. But if

you are thinking about it all the time, it is probably best to do

the test and then you will know for sure.

Ramblings from the exhausted pregnant woman who can't sleep because

of the damn gas pains...

I have PCO and am pregnant 5 weeks today. The only thing I did was start taking

metformin before I stopped taking my BCP's and got pregnant the first month

trying. I am 20 months out from an open RNY. Prior to WLS I did have 2

miscarriges followed by 3 years of infertility. The only way I would have a

cycle was when I was taking metformin, this is why I started it before coming

off the BCP's. Hopefully I will have my first US on the 15th to check for a

heartbeat. Good luck to you!

Alison,

I tested the day my peroid was due, and it was negative, and then 2

days later and it was positive. I still felt cramping, sore boobs

and tired (but I had not been getting proper sleep). I don't have

any of the other signs anymore except the sore boobs. I had my

progesterone levels checked by my OB and she said they are " Very

good! " I guess that means I am REALLY pregnant! I felt much

different when I was preggo with my son. I got preggo with both him

(pre-wls) and this pregnancy on our own. It took 1 month for Sammy

and 2 months for this pregnancy. I also have a very fertile family

which I think contributes to the chances too!

Good luck and I hope you are POSITIVE!!
