Guest guest
I also eat all the time--or so it seems. I try to eat healthfully-- but there always seems to be room for a cookie:) Junk--pretzels, crackers, etc seems to go down the easiest most of the time. The protein intake could be better! I had DS 5/03 with Drs. Ganger & Pomp and am now 23+weeks pregnant. Started around 299, was 160 around conception and now am somewhere around 175. It's hard to see that scale creep up! People tell me it looks like I am losing wt!, it's just moving around:) Sad to say I haven't been exercising much r/t extreme fatigue that has cont. into the second trimester. My hgb is around 11.5, protein is low normal, but otherwise the labs are good. I take 2 multi's, 4 cal citrates, B- 12, extra folate, 2 iron caps--I think that's all. Boy do those iron caps constipate me! Yes, even as a DS! I'm 33, this is our first! I didn't use bc for about 3yrs prior to surgery. The gas has been horrendous! Painful, malodorous, totally unpleasant. Fatty things are the biggest culprit so I do try to watch my intake in that dept. Here's my fear--GAS DURING DELIVERY!!!!! I'm just terrified of this. I'm hoping to be able to do a couple days of clear liquids before delivery--that could send me into labor! At least keeping my diet very low fat in the last few days--if only they would be predictable! Dr. Pomp could not be more supportive! My midwife is a little nervous and conferences with the ob every visit. They now want me to have ultrasounds every 6wks to monitor fetal growth but at the 20wk he measured exactly to date. I plan to bf for 6 months even though I'm going back to work after 3. I have quite a bit of loose skin which makes me feel bigger than I really am. It's frustrating but I am sooooo thankful to be this way and pregnant rather than morbidly obese. Having surgery was the best thing I ever did for myself, smelly gas and all! Hope everyone has a great night. Off to HypnoBirthing class! Lyssa
Guest guest
Lyssa -- I wish you all the best with your delivery and with the remaining few weeks of your pregnancy! It is the most exciting time isn't it? I am a 2-year post-op DSer and I have a six month old daughter! I had alot of problems through out my pregnancy but I still think that the DS was the best thing I ever did and having my daughter is such a blessing. Enjoy mommyhood!
