Guest guest
Hi, my name is Susy I am 26 yrs. old 11 months Post-Op and 7 weeks Pregnant. My mom is worried about the baby killing me literally since I have a pretty bad case of Anemia but besides that I have no other complications. I was actually wondering how many of you had Natural Child Birth or if you all had C-Sections or if your Dr. told you there were any risks if you had the baby Natural. Please write back and let me know. Thank you, Susy
Guest guest
Susy -- I had a natural birth with my daughter. I got pregnant 11 1/2 months after my WLS (the DS) and then I also had emergency open surgery while 5 1/2 months pregnant. I had a huge 12 inch long vertical incision up my belly that stretched like crazy as the baby grew. I was sure that I would have to have a C-Section but I was able to deliver her naturally even with the fresh surgical scar! Keep an eye on the amenia tho! Pregnancy can really make you tired and adding anemia to that can just wear you out. Take good care of yourself so you can chase that little one around soon! Good luck! Guest guest
Hi Susy, Congrats!! There is absolutely no reason, because of your surgery, that you would need to have a csection. I did have a csection with my first post op baby, but because he was under distress, it had nothing to do with my surgery. Good luck! > Hi, my name is Susy I am 26 yrs. old 11 months Post-Op and 7 weeks > Pregnant. Guest guest
you kinda confused me......at our hospital, we call natural births when women don't get an epidural. They go *natural*. Then we have vaginal births and surgical births. So when you say *natural* I assume you mean no anesthesia, but reading your post, I see that you are assimilating *natural* with *vaginal*. No, having the WLS (I suppose depending upon the type you had and the location of your scar) would play into the decision, also how much weight you gain and how you carry the baby (high or low). The uterine incision (mostly) are in the lower abdomen at your bikini line so, pushing the baby out *vaginally* won't affect the uterus and your pushing efforts. I hope this answered your question. I had a repeat c-section b/c I had one with my first baby. Easy recovery, sore for about 2 weeks, but I would rather have 15 c-sections than ONE open RNY again. lol My recovery was wonderful and I'm very proud of my tiny little 4-5 inch scar that you can't see unless its' pointed out. I've had several MD's (at least 8) tell me how beautiful my scar is and that they can't believe how beautifully it healed. (and this was weighing 315#!!!) Good luck! you must make CERTAIN you get in all your protein, water, vitamins, minerals, calciuml folic acid and iron each day though! Guest guest
Hi! I don't think you are at a higher risk of having a c-section because of your surgery. I am having a c-section with this one merely because I had a c-section with my first and my doctor really doesn't like to do VBAC's anymore. For a long time it was the thing to do.... with my second and third daughter, but not anymore. Plus to tell the truth with 3 other children to find care for.. the c-section is much more convenient this time around. Just try to relax and enjoy your pregnancy. All of us mothers always seem to worry about things before they are a problem. Open RNY 11-15-02 Girl #4 Due 2-8-

Guest guest
i had a csection with my first birth...i was 8 weeks post op when i concieved this time, my perinatologist is willing to allow me to try vaginal...we'll see how it goes. there should be no reason due to WLS that you can't have a vaginal birth. good luck. aka mom2ben99 (jennilee75@...)
