An update from Toi

Hi Everyone,

Toi emailed me back and said I could post, so here it

is...Thankfully all is okay.

Hi ,

Thanks for taking the time to write and check up on me. It means a

lot.

I'm doing fine these days, just extremely busy. I have returned to

work and it is so difficult to leave the babies, but I am the main

insurance carrier in the fam so I have no choice. Its a good thing I

love my work and the people associated with it, or I might just be

very resentful.

I am recovering well and may actually be able to go off some or all

of the medications they put me on to get my heart working the way it

should. I have, by all indications, developed a " peripartum cardio

myopathy. " Meaning that due to the stress of carrying twins and

having a vaginal delivery, my heart became slightly enlarged and

caused some problems. Its a problem more common to women carrying

multiples and, as the docs often remind me, more common to a woman

of my advanced child-bearing age (37 yrs, sheesh, lol) carrying

multiples.

I never had heart or blood pressure problems prior to having Ethan

and Aubree, not even at my heaviest weight, during pregnancy, or

during delivery, that is what had the doc's so baffled. Oh well, I'm

doing alright now and, although I'll never be able to run a marathon

(according to the docs), there is no reason I can't live a very

normal life. Thank God for the blessings.

Ethan and Aubree are doing fantastic. They are both healthy and

hearty and growing like weeds. We are enjoying their daily

advancements and relishing in the new smiles they have acquired.

Heaven knows they cause us to give off plenty of our own smiles. We

were blessed to have 2 very healthy, non-fussy babies who get to

stay at home with daddy and our helpers that come by to lend a hand

while I am at work.

I appologize for not being more communicative. Hopefully I'll get to

a point where I can spend more time keeping in contact with friends.

At present, I haven't even found time to write all the dozens of

thank you cards I owe. Any free time I get between babies, home,

and work is spent with our older son, doing the football and school

thing.
