Guest guest
I am 1 1/2 yrs post op, open RNY proximal.... My starting weight was 367.5 and I have dropped 140 lbs and have been at a stable weight for 6 months. I have 2 wonderful children, a girl age 12 and a boy age 7. I lost an ovary with my daughter (she was a first try baby) and it took us a year to conceive my son. After his birth we didn't use any birth control (for nearly 7 years) and no baby.... 5 years ago I was diagnosed with PCOS which explained not having a period for up to a year at a time etc.... I was on the pill for a year after surgery and have been off of it for 6 months now. Since the weight drop I was excited to see if my cycles would return... THEY HAVE! They are 28-30 days apart and pretty predictable. But still, no baby. I am wondering if this has something to do with only having one ovary, from the PCOS or what *sigh*. I just purchased a Fertility monitor on ebay.. hoping to find out if I am even ovulating *fingers crossed*. Anyway, that's my story in a nutshell. Glad to have found this group!
