Hi to all,

A quick introduction I am Ruth (29) in Scotland UK my husband Don

(34) and I have been trying for a baby for 4 years. We were

diagnosed early on with my husband having no sperm and we started

fertility treatment using donor sperm insemination. Long story

short we had 7 treatments with me having increasing amounts of

fertility meds. All my tests results showed no problems, I ovulate,

my hormones are perfect but no pregnancy.

Our fertility doctor sat us down and said basically the only problem

left was my weight at that time 312 lbs. He said we could not move

the the next step for treatment which was IVF till I lost at least

110lbs. So after some soul searching and my sister having RNY and

doing brilliant this always very overweight lady had her RNY on the

17th August this year.

I am now 4 weeks post op and already my mind is straying back to the

hope of future pregnancy. We are taking at least 12 months off from

our fertility clinic till we go back for more treatment but I am

keen to join a group like this and get myself educated and some

support.

I am very interested in hearing others stories and am looking

forward to getting to know you all better.

Hi Ruth! My mom is form Scotland and still has alot of family there.. I

believe they are still in the Greenock area. Best of luck with the weight loss
